Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery is an advanced minimal access surgical procedure in which the surgeon operates almost exclusively through a single entry point, typically the patient’s navel.
All the surgeries which were performed by conventional laparoscopy, can now be performed by SILS. In this, instead of 2-4 small 5-10mm incisions, a single sub umbilical incision is taken of 2 cm and the whole procedure is done through this incision only. It is technically challenging for the surgeon, but the results are better cosmesis and less postoperative pain.
